Dentro de esta categor\u00eda existen cuatro subcategor\u00edas de preferencia:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>C\u00f3nyuge, padre o hijo (soltero y menor de 21 a\u00f1os) de un ciudadano estadounidense.<\/li><li>Hijo casado de un ciudadano estadounidense<\/li><li>C\u00f3nyuge y\/o hijo (soltero y de cualquier edad) de un residente permanente legal (titular de una tarjeta verde)<\/li><li>Hermano de un ciudadano estadounidense<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El hecho importante a recordar es que presentar una solicitud para uno de los miembros de la familia mencionados anteriormente puede llevar a\u00f1os, dependiendo de d\u00f3nde se encuentre dentro de las subcategor\u00edas de preferencia y del pa\u00eds de origen. Los familiares inmediatos de los ciudadanos estadounidenses, es decir, el c\u00f3nyuge, los padres y\/o los hijos de un ciudadano estadounidense, tienen prioridad en el procesamiento.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adem\u00e1s, es importante recordar que el procesamiento tambi\u00e9n se ve afectado por si el extranjero est\u00e1 dentro o fuera de los Estados Unidos y si el extranjero ingres\u00f3 a los Estados Unidos con o sin inspecci\u00f3n en la frontera.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Para aquellos que est\u00e1n en los Estados Unidos y entraron sin inspecci\u00f3n, es posible que esa persona tenga que regresar a su pa\u00eds de origen para pasar por el procesamiento. En ese momento, es posible que esa persona tenga que solicitar una exenci\u00f3n por dificultades econ\u00f3micas para volver a ingresar legalmente a los Estados Unidos a trav\u00e9s del programa de procesamiento. Tenga en cuenta que, en esas circunstancias, la exenci\u00f3n no es concluyente y es posible que no se conceda.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Para aquellos que est\u00e1n en los Estados Unidos y entraron con inspecci\u00f3n, el proceso puede ser menos complicado, especialmente para aquellos que est\u00e1n casados con ciudadanos estadounidenses.
