A principios de este mes, publicaron un informe impactante que no solo detalla el alcance de la clasificaci\u00f3n err\u00f3nea de los empleados sino que tambi\u00e9n hace recomendaciones para tomar medidas legislativas inmediatas para solucionarlo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seg\u00fan el informe, 12.315 trabajadores de Nueva Jersey han sido clasificados err\u00f3neamente como &quot;contratistas independientes&quot;, exigi\u00e9ndoles que obtengan una LLC, o como &quot;fuera de los registros&quot; por sus empleadores, priv\u00e1ndolos de beneficios como licencia por enfermedad remunerada, protecci\u00f3n de salario y horas, y prestaciones por desempleo. Al hacerlo, las empresas pudieron emitir a estos trabajadores un formulario de impuestos 1099, que esencialmente informa los pagos realizados a alguien que no es empleado. Las empresas se beneficiaron de esto porque les permiti\u00f3 evitar pagar impuestos y contribuir a las prestaciones por desempleo e invalidez. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Actualmente, existe un requisito legal para clasificar leg\u00edtimamente a los trabajadores en Nueva Jersey. Sin embargo, hay muchos trabajos que no siguen este requisito.
